Your Hotel Les Bulles de Paris team enjoys helping you to discover the authentic and charming attractions of the Latin Quarter. That’s why we have chosen today to introduce you to one of our neighbours, Le Champo, a superb arthouse movie theatre.
Le Champo; for lovers of auteur cinema
A few metres from the door of your Hotel Les Bulles de Paris you’ll notice a certain building with a facade typical of the 30s, beautifully enhanced by a recent restoration. Le Champo, listed for a few years now on the register of Monuments Historiques, is an essential aspect of the Latin Quarter; the place where students and lovers of cinema have gathered to share their passion since 1939. The committed and specialised programming of the venue has gained it many loyal enthusiasts and when this two-screen cinema was threatened with closure, some big names in the movie industry lent their support, including Claude Chabrol, Cédric Klapisch and Isabelle Huppert...
Eclecticism and openness to the world
Whether you want to see an old classic or wish to discover the work of a Japanese or Italian director, the chances are that there will be something of interest for you at Le Champo. The two screening rooms of Le Champo are a cinephile’s dream where independent and cult movies are shown and the history of cinema is taken deeply seriously, with major retrospectives regularly devoted to actors and directors. You’ll have the opportunity to discover old favourites and be introduced to new cinematic visions in comfortable and welcoming surroundings.
When you have some free time and want to experience Latin Quarter-style culture, don’t hesitate to ask at the reception of your Hotel Les Bulles de Paris and we’ll let you know all about Le Campo’s screening schedule with pleasure!
